March 5th, 2022  Children\’s Gardening Workshop                   at Bible Truth Ministries campus under the trees

Healthy 22nd Street Gardeners and their children created microgreen planters.  Everyone had so much fun making their own Florida native WILDFLOWER BOMB.  Spreading seeds so more flowers will grow.​ Thanks to the Healthy 22nd St Garden Steps program and thanks to Dee, one of our Garden Coaches and our friend, Nathalie Marcelin.​

First Birthday Celebration – Healthy 22nd Street Demonstration Garden

Our Healthy 22nd Street community of gardeners attended a celebration of the anniversary of the installation of our demonstration garden.  There are now 19 East Tampa residents who have their own Front Yard Garden: a colorful half barrel self-wicking garden with a Healthy 22nd Street sign. There are bugs in my garden!

Thanks to Jackie and Sonia from the Extension office for providing information about \”Good Bugs\” and \”Bad Bugs\”.  Three common beneficial insects are : Lady bugs, predatory stink bugs ( with pointy \”shoulders\”), and parasitic wasps.  These insects eat other harmful insects.   Some commonly seen harmful insects are: aphids, stink bugs, harlequin bugs and lubbers.
