Dionne Morales, known by most as Dee, was born in Trinidad and has lived in Tampa for most of her adult life. Dee grew up in a family that always had something growing in the yard from herbs to citruses. One could say growing food is in her blood. Dee started the 813 Hood Garden in her backyard during the pandemic alongside her 2 sons using everyday items in an upcycled way from old tires, laundry baskets, to deep fryers, even a bathtub. Most of which still serve as growing containers today. Dee is determined to show/teach others that the fusion of gardening, wellness, art and community can lead to well rounded human experience. She says that we are growing the mind, body, and soul at the 813 Hood Garden Space.
