Meryl Stout

Urban Agriculture Coordinator & Executive Director of the Coalition

A Michigan native, Meryl graduated from Kalamazoo College with a degree in Anthropology & Sociology and has been in Tampa since 2012, calling Seminole Heights home. Meryl’s favorite place as a child was her neighbor’s seemingly magical vegetable garden. While she spent the majority of her career in Property Management, where she was a “fixer” and traveled 100% of the time across the Southeast United States with her loyal companion, Jack, she always dreamed of working for a non-profit and growing her own food. Meryl is SO excited to have joined the Coalition as their first employee and is thrilled to be embracing her community and putting her business skills and leadership experience towards something she is passionate about – health, fostering community, and helping others! In her spare time, Meryl enjoys yoga, reading, traveling the world, dancing, authentic conversations, laughing, spending as much time in nature as possible…and of course, slowly turning her home into a food forest filled with native plants!
